thanks, y’uns!

Thanks for wishing me well, friends!

Bobby told me that he thought I should stay home everyday and maybe drive him around the county in his car rather than working all the time. I reminded him Sissy works to buy candy (he’s mad about young coconut pieces) and that was Okay With Him.

I’ll leave in a bit to run to the doctor (there goes $50!) but I should do it. This was some kind of virus, yes (I got the flu vaccine as I always do) but it (ew) backed up into my eye. My eye swelled up, felt none too fresh, obviously turned red and emitted cottage cheese chunks. The nurse on the phone said I only met 1/2 the criteria for ‘pink eye,’ so this was probably related to the fact that I had uncontrollable mucus flying hither and thither. Gross, yes?

THEN my legs started. Legs? Yeah. Anybody recall when I got cellulitis? It’s not infected fat. It means your BLOOD CELLS are infected, which I was told means lesions aren’t only on the outside of you but on your organs and it’s indeed, life-threatening. That does mean ‘ooo, I’m coming to see you, Elizabeth.’ but it does mean that I should say, ‘I’m grand, just let me nap.’

I’m being Good and going to the Doctor, although I feel 50% better (and used Mum’s antibiotic eye ointment she keeps ‘fresh on hand’ ever since getting pink eye from a kid in the 1980s…really).

30 Day Plank Challenge:

Although I’ve been sick, I thought that I was keeping up cos it’s not really asking that much of a body. Got to work and went to mark off my days on my chart? I missed the first 90 second day. Oops! I did 90 seconds today. Yesterday was Rest (yay!) but the day before? I apparently slept through the whole damned thing.

Good on me.

2 days off went past my allotment of sick time and I’m at least no longer emitting eye chunks, so I just hope this doesn’t get worse, systemwise.

  1. I’m glad you’re going to the doctor, even though you’re 50% better. I’ve missed the last two plank days just because I forgot, not for any good excuse. I have to write it down on my to-do list, not believe I’ll just be reminded by the printout of the calendar on my fridge. (Too much stuff magnetted to my fridge.)

I hear you! I mean, I was sick but it actually slipped my mind. I *thought* I was keeping up. Weird. Yesterday *was* a rest day, so you only missed one day.

I’m glad to hear you’re on the mend, 50% is better than nuthin’! Bobby is right, Sissy should be able to stay home every day! I agree 🙂

      Yay!

I have a new antibiotic (from this infection that never cleared even after antibiotics…when?) and a new steroid. Dr thinks this is a case of double-strong, kick-back whammy of the original Ick. She also said that taking mum’s med was a NONO. I know this but it *did* help. She said if it had been a separate bacterial infection, the eye rx I used wasn’t antibiotic but STEROID, therefore, it would’ve propelled the infection. Luckily for me, it was just related ick.

  3. I’m glad you sought out the doctor Lily and glad to read you’re feeling somewhat better. I think Bobby is right; actually we should all be able to stay home every day.
