Short Post, no…actual Post!

The last blog post was me going on about parking. I know. It also mentioned the Prison.

This is just to say, for those who couldn’t be bothered to read that complaint or its predecessor the humidity complaint or the VERY LONG, especially video-driven (shot by me, bitches) posts of holiday spots… I’m home. Ace (who was new to us, remember?) feels more comfortable here than I do, which is a good thing for him.

I had an amazing pile of post, though! I haven’t unpacked my bags yet (mostly, not completely) but I delved into the post after arriving in late and then some more yesterday evening.

Jacaranda-land AKA Herterton:

HORSIES in the Oceanses!

Hamburg from a non-Hamburger:

Many thanks to the postcard-senders: AussieEmJay, Alexandra and GOF! I know GOF’s extremely limited for online access, especially in winter but I hope if he’s on free wifi someplace, that he can look at some of those videos. They are not the best videos ever recorded but even without the perspective of having been there to recall how things really looked, I still think they’re pretty amazing. Photos of grandeur never quite make it up to snuff.

Geographically dispersed, postcards

…of the last couple of years.

I’m getting sort of tired at the moment!

With no care to actual proportions of distance, nor respects for oceans, this represents from whence they came; ie:  Michigan is below Toronto as Niagara Falls is above NYC. Vancouver is above California as New Mexico is to CA’s East. Mississippi is to the West of Georgia and Exuador is above Chile.

There’s also a pile of Christmas with North Pole, Alaska above but between Vancouver and Japan.

Antarctica isn’t showing as it’s before these in time and located in an album.

I have the idea of getting some scrapbooks & photo corner stickums to shove them all in rather than the peel n stick albums I’ve previously used.

Or I might dump them all in a DVD storage crate.

What do you think?

I don’t like to think of dismembering them as découpage, though that would look lovely

postcards, Bonjour et Buenas Dias

Lookie here what arrived by Postal Mule…

Une carte postale qui est arrivée de Montréal y a letter from waaay over to the Left Coast in Cali.

Thanks to Laurie and Maura_ea, respectively.

It means a lot to come home (which is still very sad) and find a cheering thought from pals!

Y’uns are the best!

postcards, MY FAVOURITE!!

I didn’t grow up with a shared frame of reference in most ways with my peers. There were no Disney films nor Dr. Seuss books–however! I did watch Rudolph growing up. For most Americans, we have been hearing about this year being Monsieur Le Nez-si-Beau’s 50th Anniversary!

The ever lovely Queen of Fractal Beauty sent another cracking homemade postcard/ quilt square:

What a humdinger!

Our AussieEmJay sent her artwork, as well:

-Is that the street & school yard of your neighbourhood? When I was lost, wandering the city in the dark, it sorta reminds me of that–sans niege.

As a bonus, check the postal mark:

IT’S RUDOLPH!!!

Thanks, ladies! I’m loving my first Christmas cards!

postcards, ‘Miss Lily Goes to Washington’

Regular readers know that I not only love to receive postcards but also love sending them! -on my sadly infrequent trips

I shall be sending a flurry of dead trees by the end of October!

Will you be receiving one?

Years ago, I started a ‘postcard circle.’ That has fallen apart but I am still open to sending postcards to readers. There’s but one catch: I require an address and no, PO boxes don’t count. -except for those who are Grandfathered-in

Am I going to stalk you? Highly unlikely.

Will I sell your address to Corporate America? Facebook already did.

In order to claim your -lame. prize, simply click on the Contact page -or that-thar word that’s got a link. and shoot me an email with your physical address. I do request terrestrial landings as I’m not sure how to get one into orbit for a reasonable sum.
